Resident Evil is the landmark 1996 survival horror game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published in Europe by Virgin Interactive, following S.T.A.R.S. operatives through a zombie-infested mansion. The game is one of the most significant and commercially successful titles in PlayStation history.
This is the UK Platinum budget re-release, carrying serial SLES-00200 and released on 1 January 1998. It is housed in a Full Jewel PAL case containing a single disc, with a hologram on the case. English is the sole language. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demo discs are included. Sixteen PAL variants of Resident Evil are catalogued in total, and this Platinum edition represents the standard Sony budget re-release for the UK market, identifiable by its case hologram and Platinum labelling. As one of the most popular games on the platform, Platinum copies are widely available in the second-hand market.
