Resident Evil is the landmark 1996 survival horror game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published in Europe by Virgin Interactive. Players take on the roles of S.T.A.R.S. operatives Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, investigating a zombie-filled mansion on the outskirts of Raccoon City in a game that defined an entire genre.
This is the UK original release, carrying serial SLES-00200 and released on 1 August 1996. It is housed in a Full Jewel PAL case containing a single disc, with no hologram on the case. English is the sole language. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demo discs are included. Sixteen PAL variants of Resident Evil are catalogued in total, reflecting the game’s immense commercial success. This original UK pressing, without hologram, is the first and most historically significant edition for British collectors, representing the game’s initial launch on PAL shelves.
