Resident Evil

Resident Evil is the seminal 1996 survival horror game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published in Europe by Virgin Interactive, placing players in a zombie-infested mansion as members of the elite S.T.A.R.S. task force. The game is widely credited with defining the survival horror genre on PlayStation.

This is the Platinum budget re-release for the Italian and Spanish markets, carrying serial SLES-00200. It is housed in a Full Jewel PAL case containing a single disc, with a hologram on the case. Spanish and Italian are the supported languages. Research notes confirm the front cover includes notices for both a Spanish-language and Italian-language manual, while the rear states the software is in English. No case stickers or bundled demo discs are present. Sixteen PAL variants of Resident Evil are catalogued in total, and this Platinum edition is the budget re-release counterpart to the no-hologram original, identifiable by the case hologram and Platinum labelling.
