Combining first-person shooting with base management, the game has players defending from enemy attack while navigating a complex interior environment and managing the facility’s virtual operating system.

This is the German original release, carrying serial SLES-00148 and released on 24 November 1995. It is housed in a Multiway Jewel One Disk case containing a single disc, with no hologram on the case. German is the sole language. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demo discs are included. Five PAL variants of Defcon 5 are catalogued in total, covering Italian, Spanish, German, and French markets with country-specific editions alongside a broader release. This German Multiway Jewel pressing carries its own distinct serial number, setting it apart from the other language editions in the series.
