X-COM: Terror from the Deep
SLES-00077
Initially Released 1 December 1996
X-COM: Terror from the Deep is a turn-based strategy game developed and published by MicroProse, and the second entry in the X-COM series. Originally released for PC in 1995 and ported to PlayStation in 1996, it moves the alien conflict from outer space into Earth’s oceans, tasking players with building underwater bases, researching new technology, and leading tactical squads against a reawakened alien threat.
The PAL release is represented by a single catalogued variant, covering the UK, France, and Germany. It was issued as an original edition and comes in a standard Full Jewel PAL single-disc case with no hologram on the case. Despite the limited country coverage on the case, the release carries an unusually broad language set, supporting English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, covering markets beyond those listed on the packaging. A MicroProse Orange ‘Why You Should’ Registration Card is documented as included loose paperwork. No case stickers or bundled demo discs have been recorded. The combination of deep strategy gameplay and limited PAL pressing history makes this a title of solid interest to both series fans and physical collectors.
