Wing Commander III is a space combat simulation developed by Origin Systems and published by Electronic Arts, blending mission-based dogfighting with extensive live-action cutscenes featuring a professional cast. Players take command of Blair, choosing wingmen, loadouts, and ships across a sprawling campaign set in an interstellar war against the feline Kilrathi race.

Three PAL variants have been catalogued, each corresponding to a distinct country-specific pressing: one for the UK, one for France, and one for Germany. All three were issued as original editions, released from 29 March 1996 onwards, and share the same Multiway Jewel Four Disk case format to accommodate the game’s four discs, with no hologram on any of the cases. Language coverage reflects the territory split, with the UK pressing in English, and the French and German pressings serving their respective markets. No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented across any of the variants. The four-disc packaging makes this a physically substantial release, and the existence of three country-specific pressings gives collectors multiple distinct versions to seek out.
