Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat is a real-time tactics game developed by Mindscape and published by Strategic Simulations, based on the Warhammer Fantasy Battle tabletop system and released on PlayStation in late 1996. Players command mercenary forces led by Morgan Bernhardt, navigating a campaign that becomes embroiled in a Skaven conspiracy threatening the Old World, with battles combining over 25 troop types, spells, and detailed regiment characteristics.

The database catalogues three PAL variants, all original releases, covering France, Germany, and the UK. All three are presented in Full Jewel PAL cases with a single disc and carry no hologram on the case. Language support includes English, French, and German, distributed across the respective regional pressings. The earliest PAL release is recorded as 15 December 1996. Each of the three variants includes a Mindscape Yellow Burgess Hill Registration Card as loose paperwork, and no bundled demo discs have been documented. The country-by-country release structure, with separate pressings for the UK, France, and Germany sharing the same serial, makes variant identification reliant on EAN barcodes. For Warhammer collectors and fans of the series, this title is a noteworthy and somewhat underappreciated entry in the PAL PlayStation library.
