Viewpoint

Viewpoint is a scrolling shooter developed by Aicom and originally published as an arcade title in 1992, with the PlayStation version developed by Visual Concepts and published by Electronic Arts. The game features an isometric perspective and rapid-fire combat across six stages, ported from the Neo Geo original to mixed critical reception.

Two PAL variants have been catalogued, both original releases with no budget or Platinum re-releases documented. Releases cover France, Germany, Spain, and the UK. The two variants are distinguished by their case format: one uses a Full Jewel PAL case and the other a Full Jewel Black Bordered PAL case, a format associated with several early Electronic Arts PAL releases. Both carry a single disc, no hologram on the case, and are English-language only. An EA No. 1 Catalogue is documented as included loose paperwork. No bundled demo discs are present. The earliest PAL release is dated 1st June 1996. The two case format variants sharing the same EAN barcode makes careful physical inspection important for collectors distinguishing between them.
