Shockwave Assault
SLES-00071
Initially Released 16 February 1996
Shockwave Assault is a science fiction combat flight simulation developed by Advanced Technology Group and published by Electronic Arts, originally released for the 3DO as Shock Wave before being ported to PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and PC. Players pilot a futuristic fighter aircraft through two distinct campaigns, the first fighting to liberate Earth from alien invaders, and the second taking the battle to Mars.
The PAL release is represented by a single catalogued variant, distributed across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. All copies were issued as original editions and come in a Multiway Jewel Two Disk case, reflecting the game’s two-disc structure, with no hologram on the case. The sole language across PAL releases is English. One piece of loose paperwork has been documented alongside this release, specifically the EA No. 1 Catalogue, a notable inclusion that provides a snapshot of Electronic Arts’ early PlayStation catalogue. No bundled demo discs or case stickers have been recorded. With only one PAL variant catalogued, this is a relatively straightforward title for collectors to track down, though the EA catalogue insert adds a small degree of additional interest.
