Sentient

Sentient is a first-person adventure game developed and published by Psygnosis, set aboard the Icarus Space Station where players must unravel a murder mystery while the ship drifts dangerously towards the sun. The game’s standout feature is its AI-driven crew system, allowing players to interact with individual crew members through an elaborate parser to gather information and influence events.

Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, an original UK-only release from July 1997. The game is presented in a Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case, a less common format compared to the standard Full Jewel PAL cases of the period, and contains a single disc with no hologram on the case. The release is English-language only. A Grey Psygnosis Catalogue is documented as included loose paperwork. Notably, this variant features a distinctive round orange Gamesmaster quote sticker on the case, which adds both character and collectability. As a UK-exclusive single variant, Sentient is of particular interest to collectors of Psygnosis titles and early PS1 adventure games.
