Psychic Detective
SLES-00070
Initially Released 1 April 1996
Psychic Detective is a 1995 interactive movie video game developed by Colossal Pictures and published by Electronic Arts, blending live-action footage with branching gameplay across an extensive cast of professional actors. Written by Michael Kaplan and directed by John Sanborn, the game puts players in the role of Eric Fox, a psychic detective who can project his consciousness into the minds of others, seeing and hearing through their eyes to unravel a dark, sinister mystery known as the Black Diamond case.
The PAL release landscape for Psychic Detective is currently represented by a single catalogued variant, covering the UK, France, and Germany. The game’s considerable content required three discs, which were packaged together with a thick PAL manual inside a Multiway Jewel Four Disk case. Notably, the rear disc holders were removed to accommodate the contents. The release carries no hologram on the case and launched as an original edition in 1996. No bundled demo discs, case stickers, or loose paperwork beyond the manual have been documented. Given its unusual packaging solution and single known PAL variant, this is a title of genuine interest to completionist collectors.
