Power Serve
SLES-00118
Initially Released 9 February 1996
Power Serve, full title Power Serve 3D Tennis, is a tennis sports game developed by SPS of Japan and published by Ocean Software, presenting large 3D player models and 360-degree court movement as key selling points in its marketing as a technologically ambitious PS1 sports title. The game was also released for PC.
Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, an original release covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, dated 9th February 1996. Notably, this variant is presented in a Multiway Jewel One Disk case rather than the standard Full Jewel PAL format, a packaging choice that sets it apart from many contemporaries. The release carries a single disc and no hologram on the case. Language support covers English, French, and German. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demo discs have been documented. As a single-variant release in an uncommon case format, Power Serve is a minor but distinct entry for collectors focused on Ocean Software’s early PS1 output.
