Micro Machines V3

Micro Machines V3 is a miniature-scale racing game developed and published by Codemasters, the third entry in the Micro Machines series and the first to feature a fully three-dimensional game environment. Released for PlayStation in 1997, it expanded on the series’ formula by introducing weapons and power-ups alongside 48 courses set across household environments such as breakfast tables, school desks, garden paths and pool tables.

Fifteen PAL variants are currently catalogued, making this one of the more extensively documented titles in the database. Releases span the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal across three release types: original launch editions, Sony Platinum re-releases and Codemasters’ own Value Series Black Label budget range. The original editions use the distinctive Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case format with no hologram on the case, while both the Platinum and Value Series Black Label releases use the Full Jewel PAL case format with a hologram on the case. All releases contain a single disc. Language coverage across variants includes English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. A registration card for Micro Machines V3 is documented across variants, and original editions carry a round gold press-quote sticker on the case, with silver stickers on Platinum releases. The earliest PAL release is dated 15 March 1997, with Value Series Black Label editions following in September 2000.
