FIFA Soccer 96
SLES-00116
Initially Released 1 December 1995
FIFA Soccer 96 is a football game developed by Extended Play Productions and published by Electronic Arts, marking the third entry in the FIFA series and the first to feature real-time 3D graphics on PlayStation using EA’s Virtual Stadium technology, as well as the first to use real player names across its squads.
Two PAL variants have been catalogued: an original release and a Platinum budget re-release, both covering the UK, France, Germany, and Spain. All variants use the Full Jewel PAL case format with a single disc and no hologram on the case. Language coverage is notably broad, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish, though research notes indicate that Italian and Swedish-specific releases have not yet been documented. The EA No. 1 Catalogue is recorded as loose paperwork in the original variant. No bundled demo discs have been documented. The earliest PAL release is dated 1st December 1995. As one of the most commercially significant entries in the FIFA series, this title is a widely available but historically important PAL collectible.
