Extreme Pinball
SLES-00206
Initially Released 5 April 1996
Extreme Pinball is a pinball simulation developed by Epic MegaGames (with the PlayStation version credited to Digital Extremes) and published by Electronic Arts, originally released for MS-DOS in 1995 before being ported to PlayStation. The game features four themed tables, including Rock Fantasy, Medieval Knights, Urban Chaos, and Monkey Mayhem, with a dot matrix scoreboard display and a faster, more dynamic ball physics model than traditional pinball simulations.
Only one PAL variant is currently catalogued in the database, an original release covering the UK, France, Germany, and Spain. This single pressing is housed in a distinctive Full Jewel Black Bordered PAL case containing a single disc, with no hologram on the case. English is the sole language, and no loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. Released on 5 April 1996, no budget re-releases or Platinum editions have been catalogued for the PAL region. The black-bordered case format, less common than the standard Full Jewel PAL, gives this release a small degree of physical distinction for collectors of early Electronic Arts PlayStation titles.
