Descent

Descent is a first-person shooter developed by Parallax Software Corporation and published by Interplay, notable for being one of the first FPS titles to feature fully true-3D environments with six degrees of freedom movement. Originally released for PC in 1995, the PlayStation conversion brought its mine-based robot-blasting gameplay to console audiences.

Two PAL variants are catalogued in the database, both Original releases. One covers the UK alongside Scandinavian territories including Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark, while the second targets the continental European market covering France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, each carrying a distinct EAN barcode. Both variants are presented in the Full Jewel PAL case format with a single disc, in English only, and carry no hologram on the case. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demo discs are documented for either pressing. The earliest recorded PAL release date is 14 May 1996. The Scandinavian market pressing is of particular interest to collectors focused on Nordic PAL variants, which are less commonly documented than their UK or core European counterparts.
