Defcon 5
SLES-00081
Initially Released 24 November 1995
Defcon 5 is a 1995 action-adventure game developed by Millennium Interactive and published by Psygnosis, released across PlayStation, Sega Saturn, MS-DOS, and 3DO. Players defend an isolated military base in a first-person perspective, shuttling between exterior gun turrets and interior corridors while managing a virtual operating system that controls base functions and robotic defences.
Five PAL variants have been catalogued, spanning a wide range of European territories including the UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Italy, Spain, Germany, and France. All are original editions and share the Multiway Jewel One Disk case format with no hologram on any of the cases. The releases are divided by territory, with the UK and Northern European markets covered by one serial, and separate serials assigned to Italy, Spain, Germany, and France. A Purple/Pink KV-16WT1 Television Leaflet has been documented as included loose paperwork, a distinctive period insert. Language coverage across PAL releases includes English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The five-variant spread across multiple territories gives Defcon 5 a reasonably broad collecting footprint for PAL enthusiasts.
