Bubsy 3D: Furbitten Planet

Bubsy 3D is a 3D platform game developed by Eidetic and published by Accolade, representing the first and only fully three-dimensional entry in the Bubsy series, following orange bobcat Bubsy to the alien planet Rayon across sixteen levels. The game was released in North America in late 1996 and arrived in Europe in August 1997, and has since attracted a reputation as one of the PS1 era’s more notoriously poorly received titles.

Three PAL variants have been catalogued, all original releases with no Platinum or budget re-releases documented. Releases cover Denmark, France, Germany, and the UK, with three separately packaged editions distinguished by their country coverage and distinct EAN barcodes. All variants use the Full Jewel PAL case format with a single disc, and all carry a hologram on the case. The release is English-language only across all three variants. A Telstar White Walton on Thames Registration Card is documented as included loose paperwork. No bundled demo discs are present. The game’s infamy and the existence of three distinct PAL pressings give it reasonable collector interest despite its critical reputation.
