Alone in the Dark: Jack Is Back, known elsewhere as Alone in the Dark 2, is a survival horror adventure game developed by I-Motion and published by Infogrames. A direct sequel to the genre-defining original, it follows private investigator Edward Carnby in 1923 as he battles zombie pirates and navigates the dangers of Derceto manor, combining puzzle-solving with action across its hybrid 2D-3D presentation.

The database catalogues two PAL variants for this title, both original releases issued from 5 March 1996. Distribution covered the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain. Both variants are housed in Full Jewel PAL cases containing a single disc, with no hologram on the case. Language coverage across the two variants spans Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with each pressing serving a different regional language grouping. No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented for either variant.

The two-variant split across western and southern European territories makes this a straightforward but interesting case study in Infogrames’ regional PAL distribution approach during the mid-1990s.
